WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS

Week of April 28, 2024

• Fr. Gerry offers walk-in, no appointment necessary office hours for Confession or confidential conversations on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4pm in the small chapel in the basement of Hendricks Chapel and on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:30pm in the Catholic Center. Our Campus Minister Danielle will offer walk-in office hours at the Catholic Center from 2-4pm on Fridays. All other times are by appointment. You can find both of their emails here.

• In addition to our Sunday Masses, every Wednesday we have Mass at 12:10pm in Hendricks Chapel.  Thursday is community night here at the Catholic Center! This Thursday join us for Mass here at 7pm followed by dinner at 7:30. We will have chicken tenders, mac and cheese, caesar salad, and brownies for dessert. 

• We have several other programs throughout the week, all held at the Catholic Center. On Tuesdays, Kayla leads a Bible Study at 9:00pm. On Wednesdays, we have Adoration from 9:00-10:00pm. Finally, on Thursdays, there is rosary at 6:15pm before Mass.

• Are you interested in coming into full communion with the Catholic Church through the reception of the Sacraments of Confirmation, Eucharist, and Baptism? Email Danielle at dadrop@syr.edu to inquire about joining the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults, or OCIA, beginning in September 2024 and ending with the Easter Vigil in the Spring of 2025. 

• Kick off Commencement Week for our graduates with the Blessing of the Students on Sunday, May 5 at 4pm in Hendricks Chapel. All are welcome to attend, and graduates of the Catholic Center will be called up to receive a special blessing from Fr. Gerry. On Saturday, May 11, the Catholic Center will have a Baccalaureate Mass at 6pm. This will also serve as a Vigil Mass for Ascension Sunday, as there will be no 10:30am or 1pm Mass that Sunday due to Commencement.
